Recommend speaking with staff before reserving. Many rooms not handicap accessible. No elevators in restored buildings. Be prepared to carry luggage to third floor rooms. May not be able to park near restored building entrance. Staff was very pleasant, tour guide was very knowledgable.

We encountered a problem having hot water in the shower, due to the water spigot not working properly. Also, the restaurant’s breakfast hostess was very rude to us while seating. There were only two other couples in the restaurant at that time so it was not like they were busy. We opted not to go back again during our stay.

It was really nice staying at the Shaker Village. The spiral staircases were really awesome. We liked the tours, the self-guided tour through the buildings and the breakfast buffet was delicious! Thanks to All the Staff who were all friendly.

Super clean hotel in a serene setting with a phenomenal restaurant. Staying here is a wonderful journey back in time. Staff are friendly and kind, making for a pleasant experience. Definitely would love to return!

Shaker Village provided a lot of rich history with plenty of exhibits and tours led by very knowledgeable guides. We loved the variety of activities available and even the space to roam freely and spend time with some of the animals as well. The restaurant was hard to get a table at without a reservation, so they definitely recommend that. The food was okay, but we expected better for the price point. The yeast rolls though were the best bread I had ever had IN MY LIFE! I’d eat there again just for that! Management and service at the restaurant were very sweet, too. As far as the dwellings, it was nice to see that dogs were allowed on the property, even though we left ours at home. The common areas of the dwellings, such as hallways and stairways were pretty dusty and had a lot of cobwebs, but the room itself was mostly clean. The corners and under the bed was dusty and even had a few dead bugs in webs. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It’s what I would expect from a place focused on history and preservation.

We stayed overnight in the East Wash House. We had breakfast the next morning at The Trustees Table which was a buffet. After breakfast we walked around the village. We spent some time just walking around and going into the various buildings. We did the talk at The Meeting House which was interesting. It was very thought provoking to consider their celibate lifestyle and how the men & women were separated in all that they did. All in all it was an interesting experience and look at the past. We didn't agree with some of their doctrines. Overall it was a delightful look at their community and how they all worked together for the good of all.
