My husband had eye surgery the morning we had to check in. We went to the University Inn hours before check in to pay for our room; which we realized would not be ready. But the wonderful woman at the front desk said she would call us when the room was ready; and she did! It was a relief for my husband to get in the room and rest after his procedure. That was going above and beyond!

Without a doubt, this is a amazing hotel, we felt like the staff was welcoming their family. I honestly couldn't think of anything that wasn't fine. Location is convenient to Duke Hospital, short drive, but is a world away from the crazy traffic around the hospital. I am so glad I decided on this hotel.

We managed to arrive at the Marriott RTP just before the Great Blizzard of January 22, 2016. The hotel was jammed with our 75 retirement party guests and refugees from the snow/ice storm. Even with the extra pressure, every staff member we encountered was amazingly competent, friendly, and helpful. Many of the staff had to stay overnight in the hotel for two nights because of the weather, but everyone on staff was still smiling and helping us after a very hard couple of days.

The response should have been, "I'm so sorry, let me take care of that" or "sorry for the inconvenience", but instead, the room was called to verify that it was occupied. It was late at night, we were tired, and the last thing we needed to do was to walk back to the front desk! Do better, please.
