“We’ve stayed at the Globe a number of times, and unfortunately this was the worst yet. I think it essentially depends on where you get placed - annex, arch house or in the pub etc, as to what the rooms are like rather than your booking. The room we were in was tiny, thank goodness it was only for one night. The room itself also needs a freshen up/good clean, with splash/dirt marks up the walls and paint chipped. “Property has been upgraded downstairs and the restaurant and bar area are lovely as is the outside courtyard. When you go upstairs it’s apparent that an upgrade is still required. Our room - 3 - overlooked a very busy main road and the secondary double glazing did nothing to keep the constant traffic noise at bay. There are two windows in that’s room. “Friendly helpful staff. Courtyard room very small and although there was an air cooler it was useless. We took our Dyson fan with us and hardly slept on the first night. Definitely need air conditioning in bedroom. Very nice breakfast with good menu. Inside The Orange Tree we found it very tired and needed a thorough clean eg windows, window ledge and ornaments adjacent to our breakfast table.
