“This place is a gem! There is a bus that is a block away and takes 20 minutes to Stansted Airport. The room we had was wonderful: beautiful bed linens, Turkish bath robe, lovely decor, and a beautiful, healthy, breakfast in the fridge that included a very fresh and attractive fruit platter. The little touches like the coffee machine, toaster, and excellent bread, butter, jams, fresh milk, pretty china cups and plates, made us feel we were in a real home. “Servie not good”

“A warm welcome on arrival, lovely room with all facilities and a delicious cooked breakfast before we left. Would definitely book again and highly recommend to others ”

“A very comfortable country pub, with great food, top chef and well kept beer. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My room was a tad small and basic but the bathroom was modern and hey this is a 16th century building and I enjoyed my stay.”

“Very well renovated room in lovely grounds. Good breakfast, friendly staff, would stay again 😀 ”

Bathroom was comparatively clean but also like the rest of the room very tired in appearance. Car park can be a little cramped, and can make……

“Beautifully cottage in village close to Stanstead Airport and connections to London. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.”

“the beddings stuff not good, old and rough towels are dirty, not fresh & white”

“Great staff who are very helpful and friendly. stayed for a local family event and it ticked all the boxes.”

“The bar maid was very argumentative. We told her we had a reservation to which she informed us that they do not take reservation for less than 6 people. When the professional gentleman returned he took us to our table which had our room number on it. Furthermore, she proceeded to serve a tall, good looking man who approached the bar way after we had been standing a waiting.”

“Loved this place so much. It seems to be a local hangout which was fantastic. It’s on a busy street, so expect some noise, but other than that was fantastic. Already planning my next trip back!”

“No running hot water for shower. Almost no heating. ”
