“The Utopia River Retreat was just what we needed after 3 nights camping out in Big Bend. The cabin we stayed in (Kickapoo) was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed (cooking utensils, bath towels, linens). The grounds were peaceful and scenic and had a nice swimming pool and volleyball net as well as riverfront access. “If you love the beauty of nature and a peaceful surrounding this is the place to be!! Sitting on the porch watching the deer, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, and an enormous variety of wild birds is wonderful beyond words!The hosts are magnificent. And by the way Utopia is a great town, Garner State Park and Lost Maples are very close and there is great golf! On Saturday eating a deluxe meal at The Laurel Tree is unforgettable!”

“Everything was great. However there is no TV so be prepared to spend that day outside or bring board games. Not much to do at night. We were gone during the day everyday but would have been nice to watch at night. Also if you plan on cooking they have everything but seasoning youll want to bring that with you. Id suggest brining food as closest HEB or groc store is 1hr 15min away. They have a nice waterhole to check out outdoor games for kids. We went end of June and was hot but had nice breeze...
