"Upon arrival had to wait for room to be ready. There was a discrepancy from hotels.com checkin of 3:00 and posted check in on site of 4:00. They were accommodating when upstairs was requested. Our room was simple, but didn't have enough towels for 4 guests and empty drink bottle from previous guest was found. Had a faint smoke smell, perhaps from proximity to smoking area downstairs. The room also could have used an area to hang clothes. Our stay was quiet. The price was right."

"The stay was OK but the room was only cleaned every third day. That was OK but there was no hamper and only one towel bar so very little space to put used towels. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fine but choice was somewhat limited. Only fruit was apples or oranges and one day they had bananas. Front desk was very helpful to get extra Keurig cups and Kleenex."

"Very dated motel. Stayed here for the nostalgia, as I grew up going to HoJo's around the US. Check in was ok, but no one there to check out. Stairs to the room were rusty with peeling paint. Crumbling sidewalks. Felt unsafe. Shower curtain had that foul, sour smell--needs to be soaked in bleach or disinfectant. A real turn off. Beds seemed clean and we're comfy. Breakfast was surprisingly good--hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast bars, muffins, juices, coffee, and best of all, yogurt, and not the cheap stuff! If you upgraded the appearance, I think this would be a great improvement! Busy area in TC, but overall, quiet. One last thing--the curtains on front windows did not close completely."

"Grandkids had a great time. So it is a fun family friendly place but not a cost family friendly place. The $20 plus tax parking fee was excessive and we feel parking should be free. Lockers available to store your things in the pool area if you are willing to pay the fee. Thankful that the towels in the pool area were no additional charge. Food choices are good and the food was good just be prepared for the high prices. There are lots of other activities for kids to do but you need to be willing to pay the $60-80 per child per activity to do them. Our advice is to go there with a very specific plan and have it all detailed out with your kids so they understand plan."
