“This property and facilities was perfect for our group of five people. Access to the beach was a real plus. The cabin was well maintained, clean, comfortable and had all the space we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and we were plesantly supprised to see how well it was supplied. We definately plan to book this cabin again. “At Red Shutters you fall asleep in front of a roaring fire and wake to deer grazing in the yard. The accommodations are clean, the bed comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with cooking gear and dried spices. The propane stove in the main room was nice when the weather turned colder. It’s lovely to be surrounded by dense woods and just 3 blocks from Lake Michigan and Crystal Lake. A wonderful retreat. ”

“My Wife and I stayed 4 days in July, 2025 and enjoyed every moment in "The Trees" ! Ashlee and family had everything covered from firewood to laundry soap ! Cable TV, Wi-Fi and AC unit performed perfectly. Inside and out this Tree House is nicely crafted, decorated and well maintained. Peaceful and quiet and within a 30 to 45 min. drive to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Crystal Lake and the Wineries. Skiing, concerts at Interlochen, it's all nearby. “Host is extremely responsive and helpful. We had an odd fee that was on VRBO side but she investigated and did everything she could to help. The kitchen is fully stocked and even has knives that are appropriately sharp to cut/cook. All of the games and spacious layout of the basement was a hit with the kids and adults. “Have always stayed at the Brown Bear but the 1st stay in Kodiak was very nice and comfortable. The dishwasher wasn’t working but that was ok we did the dishes and left them out to dry when we left.
