It is clean and very comfortable. This was our second stay, we missed the free cookies they used to offer. Room is spacious. Bed is comfortable. Desk in room is awkward and cumbersome You have to remove the chair and roll it out of the way to make a walking path. Female at front check in was great. Make desk attendant needs to look up and make eye contact and smile to at least acknowledge that a guest is standing in front of you while you are busy with something else. Room staff was very pleasant. Doorman when you pull up was not. He was hurrying us to get out of the way while we tried to unload behind a huge bus that was just sitting there empty. The bus is empty, get that driver to move in order to make room for the second bus, not paying guests. Not professional or a very good first impression. But we would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

We arrived on Saturday and the staff was extremely helpful and polite. The first thing Sunday morning we realized the over head "rain" shower was great but the handheld shower was broken which is what my wife prefers. So that morning we went to the front desk asking if they could fix it. We were assured that the work order was put in. By Monday morning it still wasn't fixed. Again, I went down to ask them if they could but we left Tuesday morning and it still wasn't fixed.
On one of the days, our room wasn't cleaned until at 4 pm.

The Fulton Lane Inn is a charming hotel located downtown Charleston within walking distance of many places of interest and several quality restaurants. The Continental breakfast served next door at the King's Court is tasty as well as pleasantly delivered to your table. Also the wine and cheese hospitality reception each evening allows an opportunity to socialize with your fellow guests. We
gladly recommend this hotel to anyone desiring first class accommodations.

After reviewing several hotels in the downtown area, I decided on the King Charles Inn based on all the positive reviews. I must say that I made a very smart choice, the hotel was so convenient to getting around downtown, very clean, the staff was so incredibly friendly, the cheese/fruit every afternoon in the pub was such a nice bonus, free parking for the length of your stay, complimentary pass at the gym. We had such a wonderful time and I hope to come back and visit again soon!
