Our anniversary weekend at Shawnee Inn was an absolutely awful experience. We were looking forward to a relaxing getaway, but the condition of the property and the lack of cleanliness were incredibly disappointing. We witnessed the restaurant manager picking food directly from the buffet station while checking on the items, which was extremely off putting. The bar area was cluttered, had flies everywhere, and even had fly traps laid out on the bar. Our room was also in terrible condition, including a bathroom door that wouldn’t even close properly. The amenities were dirty, and the overall state of the property fell far below what we expected. The one positive aspect of Shawnee Inn is the beautiful, scenic views surrounding the property. Unfortunately, the scenery cannot make up for the poor condition, cleanliness issues, and overall experience. It’s a shame because this property has so much potential to be a beautiful and welcoming inn. Instead, it feels neglected and stuck in the past. The inn proudly highlights the celebrities who once visited its golf course, but it seems the property itself hasn’t kept up with that legacy. I would not recommend Shawnee Inn to anyone, especially couples looking for a special anniversary getaway. We left feeling disappointed and regretting our choice to stay here.
