"Hotel advertised room service being available upon request. When we requested it after a few days, we were told it was only available for people staying two weeks or more. Yuck. We asked housekeepers we met in hall to borrow their vacuum. Also since room service wasn’t done regularly or even on request we were constantly having to ask for things like towels, toilet paper, dishwashing detergent. Not a big deal, but different from our other stays. We tried to use our oven and it started smoking so badly we had to turn it off. It didn’t seem like something that could be easily fixed and we’d already gotten settled in, so we didn’t ask for a new room. However that was some of the main appeal of getting the type of room we did- that we’d have a working oven available. Our kids accidentally clogged a toilet and we asked the front desk to send someone to fix it. We were told they couldn’t send anyone to fix it. They could only send us up a plunger to use ourselves. We said that’s fine, but if we couldn’t get it unclogged ourselves we’d need help. Luckily we were able to fix it ourselves. One of the bathtubs constantly dripped. It’s been damaged for a while because the surface of the tub is well worn from it. "Both outdoor pools and 2 jacuzzis heated. Beautiful bay view from pool deck. Hammocks. Our teens used shuttle so nice and independent and the movie theater.
