If you want an old school no frills eclectic spot that’s reasonably priced to hang out in Kings Canyon //Giant Sequoias …. And centrally located..then this is the place to be. Afternoon shift crew a little bit “interesting” but on a whole nice. Our room was not ready at 3pm per the paperwork … so we killed time with a bike ride. There didn’t seem to be a place to secure bikes at the lodge … but our bikes were untouched when they were secured in the back of my car. Breakfast is diner buffet oriented … the biscuits and gravy was fantastic…. And was nice to have coffee already ready early in the morning in the lobby.
The room smelled it was tiny stuffy and it was terribly outdated. The bed was uncomfortable the showers barely worked in the floor was flat out disgusting.
The property was very clean, quaint, staff was fabulous and friendly. Great place to stay when touring Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Breakfast was delicious!
For what we paid for this room it was very disappointing. There was no water pressure in the bathroom. The lobby was dirty, containers laying around. We arrived late in the evening and our key was left outside the door for us. They advertised for wifi which is one of the biggest attractions when hiking and traveling in the mountains. No one at the facility was able to get on to wifi. The next morning we spoke with several of the young people that were working there and they said they were not allowed to tough the wifi. Instead we needed to pay for a map so we could determine our next stop. I understand you do pay more for ideal location, but after stopping at the next lodge, this one needs some work.
