Excellent location on the beach and the property facilities encompass the Atlantic ocean with some beautiful dunes, beach and, Currituck sound Western side.
Great balconies on most of the rooms with views of the ocean, a great Spa and world class Food and Beverage facilities.
It was clean and everyone was wonderful to us. I do think some of the outdoor stairs needed repair and maybe more outside lightning in the parking lot. It really was a pleasure staying here, we plan on going back.
Worth every penny. The staff is beyond amazing. Friendly, eager to help. The amenities were incredible - the beach chairs and umbrellas (the beach is clean and truly heaven), the adult pool so refreshing and the lounge chairs and umbrella are very nice. The food at Life Saving Station was incredible- from the service to the decor and food. I had the best omelette of my life. The sunset and sunrise was spectacular. And most of all - it is a true vacation….so quiet and peaceful.
The Sanderling is a nice resort. It sits on the beach and has a great view of the sun rise in the mornings. The staff is very friendly. They will happily setup chairs and umbrellas on the beach for you. The resort is a bit dated. The fencing around the property is aged. The room was very nice and clean. There are a lot of dead bugs and spiders everywhere. The balcony sliding door has dead bugs in the slider which could use a clean up. We did not use the amenities like the pool, hot tub, or gym. There are two close by restaurants next door and across the street. The drinks at the outdoor bar were a bit outrageous. One virgin pina colada and one margarita was $40 with tip. Overall a nice resort but a bit overpriced in my opinion.
Information as to No elevator and staircase to room should be listed . So people can ask for downstairs accommodation, I will say as soon as asked to be moved the front desk was very accommodating. I will also say if stairs are not a problem, upstairs room very nice with great water view , & fireplace . We loved our stay , very pet friendly, staff Excellant !!!!
We had a wonderful stay at The Sanderling. We were pleased to see that the interior had been recently updated. We also appreciated free use of the beach chairs and umbrellas and found the outdoor bar very convenient. Our meal at the onsite restaurant was top notch and very much enjoyed our server. Overall a great stay - we will definitely be back!
Superb in every way! It was beautiful everywhere! The views were gorgeous. The room was clean and large. The bathroom was super, large, light filled, and more. The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. The beach was huge, fabulous! The quiet pool was perfect. We will be back.
I wouldn’t recommend the life saving restaurant - it was fair.
The Sanderling is an excellent resort that is well maintained and full of amenities. The staff is professional, friendly, and courteous. We had a fantastic king suite with an ocean view. Please be aware that the building does not have elevators, so we had to lug our suitcases up and down four flights of stairs to our third-floor room. Navigating stairs is also the only way into the main entrance, so be prepared to carry your luggage—not exactly ADA-compliant. Additionally, our room featured two very large TVs: one in the living room and one in the adjacent bedroom. While convenient, both remotes operated both TVs simultaneously; turning on the bedroom TV would cause the living room TV to turn on to its previous channel and volume level, which was frustrating. With all of that said, the Sanderling is still a wonderful choice for a beach vacation in the Outer Banks!
Smell throughout hotel was amazing!!! Very good! It just needs like a convenient food market,l like other hotels! we were starving after 10 and everything was closed. Pool Towels were an issue! And they should have the bar service brought to you at the beach
