8.4/10 Very Good! (1,004 reviews)
We encountered several issues at this hotel that make it unlikely we will return. When we first arrived there was a short but long-lasting line because only one young woman seemed to be able to speak although there were two behind the counter. A tablet took a photo of my face, even though I had provided my ID — very intrusive.
When we entered the room, we immediately smelled ammonia. We tried to turn on the air conditioner to try to reduce the odor, but the thermostat didn't do anything. Later, when we got back from dinner, the temperature had dropped outside, and it was cold in the room, but we couldn't figure out how to turn on the heater. Without a fan or ability to drown out traffic noise we didn't sleep very well, and the cold didn't help at all.
We were able to turn on the TV, but we couldn't get it to select a channel, and within a few seconds the screen would go dark. We gave up after several tries.
Overnight, my phone dropped to 0% even though I had it plugged into the USB of the lamp, which of course I had turned off because we wanted a dark room while we slept. It turns out the lamp has to be turned on in order for the USB to work, which explains why the bulb was unscrewed when we first tried to turn it on.
In the morning we hoped for a decent breakfast, but it was mushy apples, brown bananas and a choice of strange breads and prepackaged biscuits and instant oatmeal, but no milk. The tea selection was good, but that's not enough for a recommendation.
