Lovely hotel and stay! We really enjoyed our stay!

The rooms were filthy. Our first room had toenails and food on the floor and the sheets looked unwashed. Our second room reeked of marijuana. We were finally moved to a third room, which was marginally better, but there were hairs in the sheets. For what we paid for this property, we had much higher expectations. .

I recognize that it is off season, and that staff is limited, but the entry to the building was unsightly, with leaves and dirt adorning the entry walkway. It did not leave a good first impression. Also, the resort area is pretty nice, but there is just something lacking.... it wouldn't take much to set this resort apart from others. We also noticed that the staircase (Cedar River) was pretty stained... actually, terrible stained. Again, a steam cleaner would do wonders with little effort. While our room was neat as a pin, the mattress was HORRIFIC! Hard.... like a styrofoam mattress. Also, the rubber sheet protector (without a mattress pad) is horrible... noisy, uncomfortable. Both my husband and I did not sleep all night. Bring back the comfortable bedding! Thank goodness housekeeping was on it, making sure we were given extra bedding to help offset our previous night's lack of sleep with the cardboard bed. I must admit that I was pretty excited to finally find a nice room at this resort, because I struggle to find clean rooms for our golfing get-aways, however, cleanliness wasn't the issue.... it was a terrible bed and lack of nice bedding. The room itself is in a great location and was decorated with lots of fun details. Change the mattresses and I will be back! :)
