Visiting just one town or city can only ever give you a limited view into the wider natural and cultural makeup of a region. So try to allow a few days to visit Western Maryland's range of attractions. Pay a visit to the New Germany State Park and Big Run State Park in and around Grantsville, some 16 miles (26 kilometers) to the south of Luke.
Get some transportation visit Winchester, a retail and transport hub for the region, located some 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Luke. This regional center has a range of points of interest, for example State Arboretum of Virginia, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and Jim Barnett Park. Don't return to Luke until you've spent a little time at Winchester's Belle Grove Plantation, Stonewall Jackson's Headquarters and Apple Blossom Mall.
This spot has a number of excellent places for rafting, so make sure you leave room in your schedule to fit it in. Boating is another popular watersport here.
When it's finally time to bid goodbye to Luke, head to the nearest major airport located in Morgantown, 45 miles (72 kilometers) away.
