The Lodge at Chalk Hill

The Lodge at Chalk Hill

10/10 Excellent
"We decided to do a last minute white water rafting trip in Ohiopyle, PA. The Lodge at Chalk Hill was just what we needed! A clean and comfortable spot to rest our head for the night. Our room looked to be recently renovated. The front desk staff was friendly and engaging. Although we weren't there long and didn't get to explore the area thoroughly, we will definitely be back and plan to book again with the Lodge at Chalk Hill!"

"We made our fourth visit to this property; we've fallen completely in love with this corner of Deep Creek Lake. We love to swim, and the deep water dock area is perfect for diving into this pristine water, but also for sitting in the chairs and watching the day go by. We also love to cook on our vacations, and the kitchen has every pot and pan and tool we've ever looked for. (The dishwasher is tiny but helpful, and the sink is large. The cozy seating areas both indoors and out are perfect for reading, talking, and sometimes napping, and hot tub are a nice bonus. The hosts are warm: perfectly helpful if there's ever a question or a need. We don't come every year, but it's firmly in our list of favorite places to retreat and relax."

"The stay was fine. There is no on site staff, but there is a helpful young man if help is needed to get into the room. Quite rustic, and it does need to have some maintenance work done. If you're older, know that the stairs have a higher rise per step than is standard, so you may want to get a room on the first floor rather than the second."

"We were in town for a wedding. Exceptional welcoming from Brandy. She even provided us with a book of things/places to go and handwritten personal recommendations. Grounds are gorgeous! Peaceful and right on the water. Fire pits, picnic tables and seats to simply relax right outside of your room/patio. The room was clean and loved the cabin decor. Only downside was the lack of hot water. You have every bit of 20 minutes before it’s a cold plunge lol. Gas station and Burger King a 2 min walk across the road. We left some items and Brandy immediately called us while we were still in the area. Overall, I would 100% stay here again. Can’t wait to return and bring friends/ family"
