We self catered and it was perfect for staying in by the fire in the evenings. It was lovely being able to wander through the magnificent gardens. A truely unique place and we’d definitely rebook. "

The owner did arrive, apologised for the mix up and made an effort to clean it, but we just wanted to relax after a 4 hour drive on Christmas Eve. He perhaps didn't have enough time to clean properly because every area was dirty from floors, to shower to kitchen items and the fridge had expired food in it. "Three nights, in spring school holidays, at this unique, excellently-equipped cottage, effectively resets the mind into calm. It's only a short drive from Rangiora. You are spoiled with scenic views of incredible gardens, rolling paddocks dotted with sheep, and brooding mountains in the distance. There is total privacy, really comfortable beds, and a warming fire in the fireplace for the evenings. The owners are unintrusive, respectful and very obliging. Lyddington is a must-visit ....
