A very enjoyable stay- comfortable beds, good bed linen, clean room. Very pleasant staff especially receptionist and delicious breakfast. Parking easy. Great location to explore Marlborough.

Rooms are outdated but probably on par for the town. Car park was very convenient. Staff were excellent but were not available overnight which I found odd.

Hotel is a bit tired,furniture is shabby chic without the chic,bed was comfortable,enjoyed the bath,room was clean..Breakfast was good,Great position in the town easy to find great parking.

I stay there a lot when flying into or out of Heathrow. It's very convenient. The staff are always nice and parking is good and central. Then of course, it's super convenient for the prehistoric stone circle at Avebury and also a good place for Stonehenge. If you want a modern place, this isn't for you, but if you don't mind things being 17th Century,maybe it is.

Simply just right

All of the staff I encountered were very friendly, helpful and professional, especially the evening waitress who was very observant, responding within seconds if I looked at her for something. Food was good too, including the veggie options and good value for money & the bar man knew his wines. It was a little worn around the edges, but it is a 300 year old building so it's like slipping on your old comfy slippers!

Warm and cosy with great breakfast

I have always enjoyed staying at this hotel. It has a warmth about it. Situated right in the heart of Marlborough, it feels like something out of a better age. The rooms are comfy and the breakfast was superb. I will be back.

Excellent hotel all round, full of character located in beautiful town. Lots of food options and brilliantly located to see Avebury, Stonehenge etc. One small criticism, was that one of our rooms was over the pub bathrooms and the sound of hand driers blasting through the night was disturbing.. it is a pub though, so can't complain too loudly.

The pub is lovely old building in a lovely setting unfortunately the decor is also old and tired which is a shame our room was large and clean staff were pleasant we were late going to bed and hope the very noisy and creaky floor boards didn’t wake up other guests 😇

Great staff at the Castle and Ball

The Castle & Ball is a slightly creaky old place but with friendly, welcoming employees who make staying there a pleasure. It has a central location (in the middle of the High Street, with parking behind). All the staff were lovely - Naomi (who checked us in) in particular was fantastic, including arranging a Z-bed at practically no notice when we had an unheralded extra who decided to stay with us. Thank you!

Good value for money

Updated hotel c8mins walk from Olten Station offering reasonable value for money by Swiss standards. Super clean, with gratis mineral water as well. Good breakfast selection, but check in was a little protracted as the desk was unstaffed (at c1900). All resolved eventually.

Excellent location

Pub/hotel was ideally situated in the centre of Marlborough. We had no problem parking in their large car park but I assume it could get full at busy times. Parking was free for residents but pay and display for everybody else. Staff were friendly and the evening meal in the pub was delicious. We did not have the breakfast so cannot comment. Room was a decent size. Everything was clean.
