“The house overall was good. The upkeep could have been a lot better. There are a few boards on the floor that are coming up. There is a brick that is loose in the family room. In the hallway bathroom, the rack on the wall is broken(a screw is missing) It did feel like the house(inside and outside) was not professionally cleaned in awhile. We came across a few spider webs and spiders in a few corners of the house. We couldn't really enjoy the outside scenery because there were spider webs……

“What we loved: the owners (friendly responsive, surprised us with donuts!), the setting (lovely treed lot, felt private), the hot tub (very clean, worked perfectly, seemed new), the sauna (nice bonus), the game room (lots of fun although one of the arcade games wouldn't turn on and the other was glitchy), the bedroom (downstairs bunkroom is great; all the bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable), access to a laundry room (less clothes to pack), the grill on the deck (I think we were the first……

“WILDFLOWER RETREAT was a perfect size and location for our group of (originally 6 adults) turned out to be 5. The check-in process was smooth, allowing for early access, kitchen was adequately stocked, beds were comfortable. It was clean and spacious so we never felt cramped. We did not use the hot tub due to rainy afternoons. Having a 2 car garage allowed for 2 additional vehicles on the driveway. Lighting throughout was adequate although the bedroom lamps were much smaller than……

“Our family vacation was wonderful at the Fireside Lodge. The room setup worked perfectly for our family with the children on the lower level and the adults on the top level. We loved the decorating scheme and the awesome light fixtures. The dining room’s custom made table was beautiful and so roomy and we spent lots of time there talking, eating, and playing game. The location was perfect away from the traffic yet close to everything. We hope to stay there again when we travel to Massanutten.……

“House was as described and comfortable! Awesome views, nice looking inside, and comfortable beds. The outside was a little rougher than expected, deck furniture/rugs could use an update, and construction trash from next door was blowing onto the property (no fault of the owners!). Could use some more kid friendly things like plastic dishes and cups, as well as stools for bathrooms. The bathtub drain was broken which was a challenge for our young kids. Plenty of TP, dish soap, etc provided by……

“We had a great stay! Perfect mountain location, the house was all it was supposed to be. The hot tub was relaxing the beds were comfortable, the game room kept the kids entertained and of course there’s so many things to do Massanutten!! Great host and home! Thank you!!”

“Communication with the property manager was excellent. The location of this home within Massanutten is also convenient. But the listing photos are either old, digitally enhanced, or both. The property is in desperate need of a thorough deep clean, to say the least. We were really disappointed to arrive and find that the property wasn’t nearly what was depicted in the photos, and definitely upset to have paid the rate that we did to stay here. Photos in this review are from our stay in June……
