“Unfortunately, our room had a strong odor similar to mouse urine when the heater was turned on, which made our stay much less comfortable. The overall cleanliness of the room also was not what we expected. Also, there were not enough bath towels provided for everyone in our group to shower. When we requested additional towels, we were given a mix of floor mats, hand towels, and washcloths rather than bath towels. On a positive note, the front desk staff were friendly during our stay.”

“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Angel’s Nest B&B. Built on the highest point in Parker County, this is a lovely Victorian home built in 1890s with vintage furnishings, but with up to date amenities. A/C, electricity, TV, etc. Comfy king size bed, delicious breakfast, clean, welcoming staff, wonderful wrap around porch perfect for sitting outside viewing for miles while enjoying a gentle breeze. Free parking on the property. ”

“Staff were very kind and friendly, room was clean...However, shower curtain was moldy, pool was broken, ice machines were both out of order. Two towels were in our room when we arrived, but every day after that we returned to our room to find one was taken. When we asked for a second, they quickly got one, but it was removed before we could use it the next morning.”

“I had a terrible experience when fire ants crawled into my bed and onto my nightstand. When I called the front desk to report the incident, the manager was unapologetic and acted as if I was lying. However, they eventually came to my room and still even seeing the Ants not one I’m sorry”

“It was very clean and beautiful and quiet. No other guests when we stayed. The bar tender was very kind and sweet. The only real dock on rating for us is that the food was hit or miss for the price and there were two locals in the bar at dinner that were super annoying and made our dinner experience very uncomfortable. ”

“It was too cold in the room and almost every where. Temperature control was very difficult in the room and the system does not work pry.”

“Dirty. Unkempt and in disrepair. Felt unsafe with many loitering around outside. Not family friendly. Did not even stay the night there. The door lock would not lock properly. Light coming in from all around the door jam. Sheets were dirty. Bathroom door would not even close.”

“The decision to stay at Magpie Inn for our getaway was the absolute best decision we could have made. Everything, and I do mean everything, was the confirmation of our dream to have a restful time together. The location was close to downtown Mineral Wells. We actually just walked to the main street through town. At the Magpie Inn, there was not one thing lacking physically and mentally. The owners, Jeremy and Magen, have such a magical aura about them. The food was absolute perfection. Our room……

“On ck out, showed couple pics to front desk about concerns. Window with shades, window frame fell away from wall as we tried to use chain cord to raise/lower blinds. Found used, half drunk, bottle along side of bed frame from a previous guest. No sense of care with housekeeping. Pics show the fabric cover around base of frame was so wadded up, wrinkled, etc. Seems irrelevant but also seems to reflect no care. No ice/vending available on floor. Just over all, not the best option of stays.”

“Great hotel, had good vibes, big lobby, nice restaurant and bar!! got to meet the chef and the server at the restaurant at breakfast was top-notch, will definitely be coming back for a little weekend getaway!!”
