About this property

Enjoy a stay in Greendale, WI a National Historic Landmark!

  • Built in 1936, our Apple Court home has been lovingly, accurately restored, decorated, and furnished to 1930s styles. Owned and operated solely by the Greendale Historical Society, we have added modern amenities such as flat screen TV, WiFi, A/C, fully functional kitchen, and modern bathrooms.

Stroll the nearby paths to discover the history of Greendale, built in the 1930s Great Depression. One of only three "Greenbelt Communities" Greendale was built to provide jobs and housing for moderate income families.

In just two years, thousands of previously unemployed workers built 572 living units. Over 100 families moved in the first two weeks of May, 1938. By design, the homes were built close to the street or court. This allowed the living room to be located at the other side of the house facing the yard and its picturesque views.

A stay in our Original and in Greendale is unique in every way!
