The location is wonderful and within walking distance to amazing hikes without getting in your car. The food is overpriced and the staff was ok.

Excellent location and setting of rooms is pleasant. Cabins are nice but basic, HUGE bed. Was quite chilly in room and the heating system was quite noisy. Bathroom dated. Overall very clean and nicely decorated. No Wi-Fi or TV which is fine but no cell service either so planning anything (hikes, where to eat etc) was tough - Wi-Fi is available for an extra fee (is free at local restaurants along the main road!). Lodge closes at 8pm incl Resturant. I would definitely stay in this area again but unlikely here.

The cabins we stayed in are old, but somewhat renovated. For the price of the unit, it should of not looked, felt really worn. The unit definitely had critters in the attic above the kitchen area roof. Our unit had a view of another building and people walking by. Don’t stay in unit 61. We were also there during the Big Sur Marathon but didn’t know that until we headed up to the park. Saturday at 6:00 am we were awoke to loud speakers and continued until 7:00 am. It would of been polite to let us know in an email when we first looked into reservations. There are many more places with beautiful ocean views not to far which are much better for your money. We made a great time with the hiking, but paid too much for these accommodations. If you don’t hike, the closest beach is enjoyable, but you also have to pay a different fee as it’s run by the federal parks system. $12 to park and no walking in is allowed.
