While the hotel had a great view, it was significantly overpriced especially given the quality of the hotel and the amenities. We love to stay in higher end places once in a while and our expectations (given the price) was this would be like the quality of the Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach, OR or like the Salish Lodge in Washington. But this was not the case. The hotel is aging and needs lots of work. Dry rot in many locations and inside the room, it was just sub-par - again given the nightly charge. No end-tables by the bed, shower was not in good shape - caulking coming off, limited space to put the things you need in the shower, lights not working, no bathroom fan for the shower, etc.
on top of that, given that the property is right on the beach, one would hope that the view would be fantastic, yet they have older balconies that obstruct the view - instead of using modern glass rails for the balcony, the have close wood rails that block the view and chairs on the deck that also block the view.
Further, the quality of the room is just no up to par overall - furnishings are sub-par, fireplace is FAKE and in fact, we had no idea how to even turn up the heat as there was no instructions, etc.
WAY over priced for the quality...
