Time for a honest review-
When booking a stay in downtown Carmel, you have expectations of a clean, updated, remodeled room. The room we were given was more expensive than our previous nights stay in Napa and was very old. It smelled like my grandmas house with a phone next to the toilet, a jacuzzi tub with yellowing plastic jets, an old television sitting on the bathroom counter with a cable box with all the cords exposed, and don’t forget the little fridge in the bathroom. The screen on the front window was bent and popping off. The sliding glass door would barely open. The sliding glass screen also kept coming off the tracks so I just set the whole screen off to the side on the deck. The furniture and decor was very old. The deck was spacious, but the cushions were all stained at the table and lounge chairs. Molding was coming off in the showers, light switch plate was broken, etc.
Now on a positive note, the staff and ocean view were great! Continental breakfast was ok. Location was awesome!! Bed was comfortable.
This hotel needs to invest money back into the rooms if they want to charge Carmel prices.
