This is a lovely place to stay, very clean, very friendly, with added touches that show the owners care for travelers to have a good experience. There's a fine pet walk area and even pet blankets supplied. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Moriarty area.

I travel a lot for work, and drive a truck with a small 5x8 trailer. The Sunset Motel has always been safe and accommodating to my travel needs. It is one of the cleanest and quietest places I stay on I-40 in this area. Highly recommend! I'll be booking on my way home from California, as well!

Late check in called before 10:30 made arrangements for payment and key access at key box. Clean room, nice bedding, bed could be softer but was adequate for a nights rest. Definitely will stay again when traveling through.

We found this hotel when we were unable to stay in Albuquerque, it's a great out of the way place, really retro but super clean, super quiet, the owners were amazing we even came in a bit late after a concert and they turned on the outside lights on until we got into our room. We will definitely stay there again, we will probably even stay there instead of staying in Albuquerque. Can't say enough good things about this place!

The staff was so nice. Even had blankets to cover the bed but we don’t allow our dogs on furniture so didn’t need them. The room was so quaint and just like the 1950’s with the decors. Clean and comfortable

An overnight stay on the way west. This is the only motel in 2400 miles of historic Route 66 that is still run by the family who built it. Their commitment to your comfort is as good as you'll find. A good alternative to staying in Albuquerque if that is not your ultimate destination.

I’ve stayed at the Sunset Motel twice now and both times have gone great. It’s dog-friendly, close to multiple places to eat, safer than Albuquerque (my opinion), and it has historic charm. The staff is always friendly and the check in & out process is always fast and easy.
