From the outside this property looked awful, run down with peeling paint, trash everywhere, the bin overflowing, junked cars parked, some appearing not to be drivable. It was not at all a place I would choose. The pictures on the website presented a very different picture. Fortunately the office staff told us they were full and our reservation had been transferred to the Super 8 in Fortuna which was very nice and we appreciated being there.

This is an iconic building in Eureka. I have lived in Eureka for 20+ years and recently sold my house to travel. Needed to tie up some loose ends and found that the Pinc inn was available, how could I not. So happy I got to see this building on the inside, it is absolutely stunning! The current owners have created a super comfortable environment, the beds are amazing! No other hotel in Eureka comes close to this place. If you are visiting Eureka, I highly recommend the Pinc Inn in the beautiful and iconic Pink Lady Victorian.

The room was just ok. Maybe because it was a dog friendly room. Flimsy blanket on bed, it was put on way too low on the bed, could not pull it up to the pillows. One of the pillows smelled funny. Bathroom was clean and shower was ok. Main complaint was the dog area was filthy, not as advertised.

Carter House was a delightful stop on our Redwoods trip. It is attractive, comfortable and calming-a real rest stop. We were treated to a free drink at the bar before dinner and met a delightful bartender who chatted with us. The dining room is very pleasant, the service was excellent and dinner and the free breakfast was delicious. Our rooms were small, but comfortable and attractive, and the fluffy robes in the bathroom were a plus. We were advised to splurge in Eureka and Carter House was definitely worth it.
