Leave your car behind - walk to everything in town. Fresh and well-renovated

The House:
Experience the charm Nantucket has to offer from our fully renovated historic home, conveniently located in town. Situated across the street from the Great Harbor Yacht Club, "Nantucklet" screams "Location, location, location!" You can leave your car on the mainland and walk or bike from our house (if you do bring your car, we can accommodate it in our driveway that has two tandem parking spots). It is a 2-minute walk to a full-service and fully renovated convenience store and a six-minute walk to "Wicked Island Bakery" where you absolutely must get up early to treat yourself to a Sailor's Knot pastry or Morning Bun (insider's tip: call the day before to reserve). Nantucklet is less than a ten-minute walk to the Stop-and-Shop and anywhere from a 5-15 minute walk to world-class dining, excellent shopping, and cobblestone stone streets.

The house features a spacious kitchen with custom cabinetry that was crafted by the Amish in Pennsylvania. A large (96 inches) table can easily seat eight people since it has five chairs and a custom window bench. All new stainless appliances, a gas range, Quartz countertops, and a farmhouse sink make cooking and clean-up (almost) fun!

The living room features comfortable seating and 55-inch TV. The nearby den is a great place for an intimate group to gather or to take a nap or read a book.

The master bedroom has an en-suite bath and fireplace. It has a queen-sized memory foam mattress and TV. The guest room also has a queen memory foam mattress and direct access to the den; in fact, the den can be closed off to create a mini-apartment with the guest room. The bath has an oversize walk-in shower, classic white subway tile, Carrera marble flooring, and a beautiful of the garden.

Kids and adults will delight in the second floor bunk room. It is light, white, and airy and has four twin beds, also with memory foam mattresses.

The main bath has a shower-over-tub and custom vanity. It also has white subway tile and marble flooring.

The mudroom has plenty of storage and a stacked washer and dryer. There is a brick patio (equipped with a propane grill) outside for morning coffee or happy hour and an outdoor shower.

The Island:
Things to do while visiting:
1. Rent bikes in town and bike along the Milestone Road out to ‘Sconset. There are great bike paths all over the island and it’s a great way to explore beyond downtown Nantucket without splurging on a rental car. Start at ‘Sconset Market with a blueberry muffin or ice cream cone and walk the ‘Sconset Bluff Walk up to Sankaty Lighthouse. The bluff walk is a hidden gem and there’s no signage directing you where to go, but it’s a public walk through the yards of some of the island’s most beautiful homes on Baxter Road with the Atlantic Ocean off to your right. If you start at the market and find the rose-covered cottages on Broadway, you’re on the right path!

2. Consider a sailboat ride (or charter the whole boat for up to 14 people) with Endeavor Sailing. The captain is extremely knowledgable about the island, the boat itself is beautiful, and you can either soak up some sailing tips or sit back, relax, and pop a bottle of rosé.

3. Head out to Cisco Brewers, a combination brewery, distillery, and winery near Bartlett’s Farm. You pay a cover ($5 at the time of this writing) at the entrance and then enjoy your beverage of choice while listening to live music and snacking on the food truck offerings.

4. If you end up with a rainy day during your trip, you can catch a movie at the Dreamland in town or stroll through the Whaling Museum (warning: it will be crowded if it's raining and parking will be difficult). Super cute gift shop here, which is accessible to the general public.

5. Go to the beach! There are so many options on Nantucket. A few to consider:

Walkable from the house are Children's Beach (located off of Harbor View Way), with gentle waves and summertime activities, and Jetties Beach (4 Bathing Beach Road) with shallow and calm water. My favorite is Miacomet Beach, which has big ocean waves and a pond for the littles. Nobadeer Beach is a drive-on beach (4WD only) and my second-favorite, located near the airport.

6. Eat! World-class dining options abound here! I love Dune and Cru is tremendously popular (while I was decorating the interior of the house, the manager at Cru let me borrow some chairs to test-drive at my kitchen table to make sure I liked the sizing with my table; how's that for service?!). Others to consider are Galley Beach and The Proprietors Bar & Table.

7. Shop. There's a shop for everyone on nearby Main Street.

The house is equipped with sheets, bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, a Keurig and a regular drip coffee maker. It includes a starter supply of paper towels, toilet tissue, sponge, dish soap, and trash liner..

(Nightly minimum must conclude - check-out on - by Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10 AM. While the VRBO system may allow you to book a shorter stay beyond that date, full-week-only reservations go into effect on Saturday, June 29. Any reservation not meeting this criteria is subject to cancellation.)

Great house and great location!
I stayed with 2 girlfriends and we loved the house. It is so charming, has everything you’d need, and was in a great location. If we come back to Nantucket we will definitely try and stay here.

Great experience!
We came over for a wedding and from the beginning, Anastasia was very responsive and helpful. Very quick to respond and provided helpful insight on options like where to store luggage if needed. The house was perfect. Very nicely done and it had everything needed to help us enjoy our stay. Location to town was perfect too! Highly recommended.

Memories to last a lifetime
⛴ Nantucket 2022 was as charming and memorable as we expected 🇺🇸 Honestly, it felt like we were transported to another place and time. Hydrangeas lined all the wood-shuttered summer homes, American flags hung on every home, bikes and pedestrians ruled the roads, lighthouses looked straight out of a postcard, the beaches were pristine and the fishing was amazing! For the last 20 years the islands off of Massachusetts have been on the top of our bucket list. Nantucket (30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod) was even more than we imagined and worth the wait. We went out of a private charter and the boys caught over 40 fish, enjoyed a sunset sail (ACK SAIL), spent most of our days at the sandbar and on Jetties Beach, golfed at the gorgeous Miocomet, loved the vibe of Ciscos brewery, enjoyed a bike ride, a sunset date at Galley beach, and we enjoyed lots of great seafood dinners. Our favorite family meal was probably at Brand Point and at Galley. This home was the perfect setting to enjoy the island. We walked into town many times for food and activities! It is about a 10 minute walk. We loved the decor of this darling Nantucket home. Our family of five all fit comfortably. We rented a car, bikes and beach chairs and used them all.

Beautiful Historical House, Great Location
The house was very cute, comfortable and you could tell it had a lot of good-time stories to tell. The hosts were communicative and provided timely responses to all questions. Located an easy walk from downtown and water just a block away. This is a historical property with a large step to enter, tall stairs to the attic, and risers between rooms so it is best suited for able bodied people.

69 Union Street: A Nantucket Dream Come True
Our stay at 69 Union Street was wonderful. The family kitchen is a kitchen of dreams. We walked to town for dinner both nights (only 0.6 miles). There was ample room to sleep my family of 6 adults… plus a few more if needed. Everyone loved it and were only sorry we could not stay longer. Will definitely be back to this property in the future.

AMAZING STAY & FANTASTIC HOST
This was one of the best VRBO or Air B&B stays my family and I have ever had. We had flowers, a birthday card, and a welcome gift there upon arrival, because we were there celebrating my mother's 60th birthday. Super clean house and very well decorated. Things to note: outdoor shower! Great water pressure & got really hot. Plenty of beach chairs and towels (8 I believe). Lots of serving platters, bowls, etc. for cooking. Master bed was extremely comfortable!! Great AC circulation. Last thing- the property was much bigger than the photos looked. Plenty of space for 8 adults living under one roof!

Adorable, convenient, fully stocked, and easy!
Love this place! First its adorable and fully stocked.. having some basic food staples avail made staying here super easy. We walked from the ferry to the house and loved the quaint and cozy rooms and decor. Got in to town late off the ferry and once settled into the house we walked just about across the street (2 min walk) to "56 Union" for a bottle of wine, wedge salad, fried oysters and clams casino. Really liked that we can just walk home and not have to worry about driving or parking. We walked to breakfast at the Island Kitchen every morning.. yummy panko crusted eggs and avocado egg chorizo sandwich... double yummy. Dinner out at Nautilus was our favorite..lamb chops, oyster tacos, brussel sprouts, pork belly, tuna rice bowl and a cosmo... so so so good! Lovely cottage in a great location
We stayed in the cottage for a week over Thanksgiving holidays and loved it. The place is beautiful, nicely set up, comfortable, and very clean. It’s also in a great location across from a duck nature preserve which my kids loved, and a short walk to Main Street. The owner Anastasia was very nice and responsive and helped us with anything we needed.

We loved the house! So beautifully decorated and comfortable. Plenty of room for our group!
The house is perfectly located with an easy walk into town and a variety of other restaurants and a grocery store. Consequently not having a car was never an issue. If it was too far to walk to our destination we rode our bikes or took a shuttle. Anastasia was extremely helpful! She was always quick to respond, had great suggestions and was very accommodating. The sailors knot pastry at Wicked Island bakery was right on point!!! We couldn’t stop going back. This was our second time to the island and the experience once again lived up to our expectations.

Excellent
We've rented a number of homes through VRBO and this was one of the best. The house is clean and fresh and not junked up with a lot of personal momentos that I find off-putting in a rental. There was a great selection of books and lots of places to stretch out and read them, both indoors and out. All of my communication with the owner was top-notch and I really appreciated her taking the time to answer my questions about visiting the island, since it was my first time. It is easy to walk to town for shopping and eating.

In the heart of Nantucket
My family and I loved this house. We had a great time in it and on the island. Our host made our stay thoroughly enjoyable and gave us a lot of information prior to arrival so that our travel here was as stress-free as possible. The house itself was exceptionally clean and well-stocked with housewares / kitchen supplies. We ate dinner out a few times and made breakfast and lunch at home. The downtown area was easily walkable from the house, which was good (and bad because we discovered The Juice Bar which serves ice cream!) and made a car optional for much of our time here. Thanks for having us!
