The best area to stay in Nates is right within the village of Nates itself, particularly around the central square and the road leading to the church, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and a peaceful setting.

Nates is a small, quiet village, and staying in its heart means you're close to the few local restaurants and shops. The area around the main square provides a traditional Cantabrian village experience, with stone houses and easy access to the surrounding countryside. This is ideal for couples seeking a tranquil retreat and a base for exploring the natural beauty of Cantabria.

For those looking for a slightly more secluded experience but still within easy reach of Nates, the accommodations on the outskirts of the village, often set amidst fields and offering views of the mountains, are excellent.

For the most pleasant weather and a full experience of Nates, the best time to visit is during the summer months, from June to September.

During this period, you can expect warm, sunny days great for exploring the natural beauty of Cantabria. The temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking in the nearby Picos de Europa National Park or relaxing on the beaches along the coast. Many local festivals and events also take place in the summer, offering a chance to experience the regional culture.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway may also appreciate the shoulder seasons of May and October. While the weather might be a bit cooler and some attractions may have reduced hours, you'll encounter fewer crowds and can often find better value on accommodations.
