      Perfect weekend getaway

My husband and I booked this place for our one year wedding anniversary. We wanted to get away from the big city (we live in Austin) and this was perfect. The cottage was super cute. The breakfast burritos were delicious and Marylin even had extra farm fresh eggs we used during our stay. The bed was comfortable. Sheets were cozy. We were there on one of the coldest days ever but the space heater did a great job of heating up the bedroom area. We did bring an extra blanket and it was perfect. It was very peaceful and had great views from the patio/balcony. The bathroom door is only a curtain which wasn’t bad since it was just my husband and I but couldn’t be awkward if your not with your significant other. During the process Marylin was quick to respond to any questions we had leading up to our reservation and was easy to contact during our stay. Overall, we had a peaceful and positive experience and would recommend Serenity Hill to our friends. Thanks again Marylin!

        Needed more time!

This was a long trip for us and we were completely unfamiliar with the area. I was so excited when I found Serenity. We had such a wonderful stay and could not have found a kinder host! Ms. Marilyn let my son gather chicken eggs throughout the day and feed the cows. She even had the little pool ready for him when we arrived! The goodies left in our fridge and pantry were yet another pleasant surprise. The property was exactly what we had hoped for and expected it to be. I am not sure if we will head this way again, but if we do we will certainly it be back! Don’t miss out!

A wonderful property with a lovely host

We enjoyed our stay very much. The attached, covered deck was perfect for a peaceful morning coffee. She supplied lots of snacks. As a tea person, I missed having a kettle, but we made it work. Unfortunately the steam kept setting off the smoke detector. The only misleading piece of the online listing is that it looks like there are two queen beds. In fact there is a day bed and a queen bed in the same room with an adjacent bathroom. It was fine for our family, but would be odd with older kids or another couple. That said, our seven year old loved running around and helping to feed the cows and chickens. The views couldn't be beat.

            Canyon Lake Trip

Everything was adorable! Our family wanted a little trip before the school year started and this cabin was more than we expected! The wading pool was perfect for our 5yr old daughter to play in while we relaxed on the patio deck in a serene country setting! Everything was well fenced in so that we didn’t have to worry about our dog venturing off into the hill country. A short scenic drive to get to the fun at Canyon Lake made this such a great stay. We can’t wait to come back!!

Love this Area of the State, Great Views and Location

Marilyn was an excellent host - While it was a cold rainy December day at check-in, we really enjoyed the quaint cottage, views from the outdoor deck, and seeing the chickens run around the grounds. Marilyn additionally provided us with breakfast tacos and farm fresh eggs we used in a recipe, and then again for breakfast the next morning. I will caution as my only critique - the cabin can be quite chilly when the temperature drops into the 30's. We bundled up and did just fine, but be aware - a space heater is the only means of warming the place - so pack accordingly if you're staying during the cold winter months. Just a small caveat for an otherwise wonderful trip. Thanks, Marilyn!
