Easy to get around, and the area is nice and quiet - for New Orleans. This is a shotgun home (long and narrow) with a great front porch and a nice backyard patio. The bedrooms are a good size, and each has its own locking door. The living/dining area is not very large, but it accommodated all 6 of us when we wanted to hang out and watch TV or sit and visit. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed. I would suggest adding more silverware, as there were no standard spoons, only soup spoons. Local cats hung out on the porch and in the greenery, enjoying the sunshine. We wanted a New Orleans style house within walking distance of The French Quarter, Frenchman St. but not in those areas. This Treme house fit us perfectly! It was great having 3 bedrooms, so we each had our own room. It had all of the amenities we needed and the host was very responsive. The place is clean and comfortable. It's amazingly convenient, with easy walking distance to anywhere within the French Quarter.Since we were going to be there for a whole week, we rented a car so we could travel elsewhere in the city. Parking in front of the residence was never any problem as there was always a spot or two right in front of the cottage. Property was clean; Penelope was extremely nice and accomodating. 15 min walk to Bourbon St.; about the same to "downtown" Canal St. Great local restaurants also; did Fatma's Cozy Corner for breakfast, and would recommend Liuzza's by the Track for lunch. Host was quick to answer and helpful when needed. Let us check in early. We left early check out and may of forgot things amd she was helpful to go look for us early in the morning. We stayed at this property 3 nights. It was a very convenient location! We were able to walk to most sites and attractions we wanted to see. The host was easy to communicate with and was quick to respond when we had an issue with the access code to check in. The house was pretty clean overall and we had everything we needed during our stay. The house was beautiful with lots of space for myself & my 3 older children. The neighborhood is quite & has alot of friendly full time residents that we spoke to while sitting on the front porch. We also met an adorable neighborhood cat named Piglet that visited us every day. We sat on the front porch every evening. The owners are very kind & quick to respond if needed! The only thing we needed them for was a smoke detector beeping, everything else was perfect! The location is just a 20 minute walk to anything on the quarter, including to Jackson Square & the St. Louis Cathedral. The nearest Streetcar pickup is less than 5 minutes walk away & there's a convenient store a block away as well. We're lucky enough to visit during the Treme Fall Festival and had a wonderful time listening to live music while sitting the front porch. The home is an easy walk to the Quarter/Frenchman street, but don't overlook all of great locations in the neighborhood as well. Penny was quick to respond to any questions. Home was clean and had everything we needed for the stay.
