The Treme, next to the French Quarter, is home to New Orleans jazz, restaurants, and colorful homes is one of the most historic neighborhoods. We provide 2 bicycles so that you can walk, bike, and explore! This large shotgun style home has 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms will 5 total beds: 1 queen bed, 2 double beds (bunk), 1 twin bed, and a pull out couch. Perfect for families or a girls trip. There is a full kitchen with stove, microwave, blender, coffee maker, toaster, and bar equipment. Full sized washer and dryer in unit. Perfect for families, friend groups, or work trips! We are fully stocked with board games, Wifi, and smart TVs. This location is walkable to many great restaurants, grocery stores, a movie theater, live music venue, and more! We are a 7 minute drive to the French Quarter and Frenchman St. and 10 minute drive to the Superdome. 2 blocks from the famous New Orleans trolley. After you book, we'll provide a list of great restaurants, tours, and sites to see. Treme is known for its jazz clubs, soul food spots and cultural centers celebrating the neighborhood's African-American and Creole heritage. Located next to the French Quarter, it is one of the most historic neighborhoods you can find in America. Congo Square in Louis Armstrong Park hosts concerts and outdoor movies. Colorful cottages surround the stately St. Augustine’s Church, while St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 has the graves of early residents, including voodoo priestess Marie Laveau. The kitchen and living room were uncomfortable to cook and eat meals. No kitchen table like in the photo, the narrow 2 person bar where you are supposed to sit and eat is against the wall. If you used it to eat, you would be facing the wall with your head 1 foot from the wall. And the 2 bar stools seem more for show, uncomfortable and unstable. No dish drainer, we dried them on a baking tray lined with paper towels. Not much kitchen stuff but plenty of stainless pots and.pans, except no cooking oil. No body or bar soap - we used hand soap. Lots of rough spots - countertop cut away for outlet etc. All 3 window AC units show "clean filter". I cleaned the one that we used, it was filthy. Both bikes had completely flat tires In the evening there is a smell of urine or sour coming from either the couch or living room. The neighbors security lights are strong and make it impossible to get the bedrooms dark. No coffeemaker - a keurig with no pods. She did bring us a re-usable pod for the coffee we brought, but it was a pain and a mess. Overall, the property needs some real TLC. The front door was falling apart and many things seemed to need either a repair or a deep cleaning. Mattresses were comfy & the kitchen was stocked with cooking wares. Parking wasn’t too difficult along the street. Neither TV remote/TVs never worked, despite me asking for batteries when someone came to fix the front door lock. It would have been nice to watch a TV. The dressers are ornamental only given how flimsy made. I appreciated the prompt communication regarding an issue with the front door lock, but at the same time I gave a heads up about the failing battery warning the day before and wish we didn’t have to worry about the front door not locking when we were trying to leave for an appointment. Towels were thread bare and rough. Minimal hand soap & no shampoo, so bring your own supplies. It was in a great area with fantastic restaurants near by. There were some issues along the way that did happen. First the water got disconnected for non-payment; however, this was resolved right away after messaging the owner. Second, the stove did not work, this also was semi resolved after contacting the owner; in order to use the oven or stove you have to unplug it and plug it back in, then it will work for a while. The back bedroom did not have a remote for the tv and the dresser was wobbly. The biggest issue we had was someone putting up a big sign in front of the place stating that the house was a VRBO rental and basically put what I call a "tourist target" on our backs. When the manager came out to fix the stove they took it down only for it to be replaced with another one 2 days later; given this we decided to leave a day early since we did not feel safe with this information being displayed outside. Other than that most of the neighbors we very friendly except for the extremely loud music they play some days; it didn't bother us much as long as we were inside. French Quarter and Frenchmen also walkable during the day or with a group. The house was extremely clean. Beds were very comfortable. It really felt homey and the neighborhood was quiet. Nearby, I recommend eating at Gabrielle on Orleans and Addis (Ethiopian) on Bayou/Desoto. This is a great location 10 minutes drive away from most attractions such as the French Quarter, Audobon Park, and City Park. The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet during our stay. Some supplies were running out such as the handsoap, and no free bath products or laundry detergent, just an FYI. The bathroom sink was slow to drain, but we let the property manager know and they were very responsive and even offered to fix it during our stay. The location was great, nothing seemed too far away. The neighborhood was active but quite chill, no real disturbances during our stay. The unit is a “shotgun” or duplex if you will, so it was kind of hard for my little one to settle down for the neighbor during “quiet hours”. The rental was good for what you pay, but it could really use some love. We felt like we were going to break everything, the furniture was falling apart and nothing was stable. The only shower was janky and took a min to get it to work right. Just need a handyman to tighten everything up a bit. The games were a nice touch for winding down during the only time we were there after long days of exploring. Ebony’s place was perfect for our trip. Inexpensive to French Quarter when we Ubered and adequate parking for our rental. It is close to several bus stops for cheap and easy transportation. Great local food near by. A few bus stops away from the French Quarter. Safe and walkable neighborhood. Close to a park/greenway and Wholefoods. Fast communication and very accommodating to our needs. Would stay here again. This house is literally in the perfect location everything was about a 7 to 8 minute drive away. Oh and my family and myself loved how comfortable the beds were.
