Old & Dusty

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Pros: Hotel staff are all great
Cons: From the dusty room, towels that has big holes and the condition of the shower curtain, I can tell that the hotel is not well maintained.
Location: Location is good however the trash along the street when you get out of the hotel is really disturbing.
Considering the rate of the hotel and the condition of the room, I would caution anyone who would like to book a room.

Great hotel

Posted Sep 24, 2016
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Please get the pipes fixed. The constant 'knocking' sound throughout the hotel woke me up every morning from around 7am and last into the afternoon.
Location: Great location and shops, deli's and subway right around on the corner. Can't fault location.
Loved staying at this hotel. The staff are friendly (and even more so after I explained to them the disaster of a hotel I had just been staying in!!!), you get a warm cookie on arrival, they gave me a super-early check in and the room was just perfect for what I wanted. Staff were friendly, housekeeping great, bed super comfy, room clean and spacious, couldn't fault the room. However, the only downside is I did ask for a mini bar fridge on my booking which was not given to me and I specifically asked not to be by a lift (I asked this in person at the front desk three days prior to my check in) and my room was right in front of the lift! So it was noisy from this perspective. Also every time someone left their room and their door slammed behind them by bedhead shuddered so I would suggest putting a large sign on the back of all the room doors (and inside the lift as a courtesy) saying ' please close your room door gently behind you. Do not let it slam'. Also there was a constant 'knocking' sound in the room and throughout the hotel which woke me up every morning from around 7am and lasted into the afternoon! Very annoying. I asked housekeeping what it was and they thought it was something to do with pipes/washing machine piping. These things happen of course, it's an extremely old and historic city so things are going to go wrong but I would have liked to have been told on check in to be made aware.Otherwise, would definitely stay there again and highly recommend the hotel!

great location close to Times Square

Posted Sep 22, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Remodel the rooms
Location: Everything within walking distance
Size of the room is very small and there was no Fridge, however one was easily made available to us with no problem once asked. The Staff were very helpful I would only recommend this hotel to a friend for the location only

Friendly staff

Very happy staff, Dwaine took time to find me a cab in busy New York. Food was good, clean rooms, quiet for New York, close to Times Square and Empire State Building.

Average hotel but great value for NYC.

Posted Sep 1, 2016
Hotel is very close to Flatiron, Penn Station and Madison Square Gardens. Very average. Would describe as a 3 Star not 4. Rooms were on the smaller side (we stayed in one bdrm suite) and the were in need of a more thorough cleaning (dirt built up in corners of bathroom, stained rugs, etc.) and were a little worn looking. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is ok but not much to see in the area. We love to walk so it wasn't a big deal to us. Time Square is a 10-15 min walk, same to Empire State Building, Central Park 30-40 min, same to SOHO. We probably wouldn't stay here again but would still recommend. The price was right for us for the space we needed with 2 adults and 3 kids, averaging around $200US/night in August.

Cons: The speed of the elevators definitely needs to be approved
The hotel is directly around the corner from the mega bus stop. Its convenient to all stores and times square. Its basically walking distance from everything!!! They offer fresh baked cookies when you arrive and leave. they are awesome!! The only issue I have are the elevators. There are only 2 and they take FOREVER to come!!
