We were in an upper level room. Building was so dirty, floor, carpet, walls. Handrail broken off the staircase. Our room wasn’t much better. Although the room had been renovated at some point, the bathroom was not clean, shower water pressure was awful. The room was freezing when we arrived. It was cold outside and we’d booked earlier so I would have thought the owner would have at least turned the heater on low to make it bearable. The cement sidewalk I uneven so it’s easy to trip when it’s dark.
The fella at the front desk couldn’t have been more unhelpful. I asked about restaurants in the area so we could have dinner. He said there was one “Over there” while pointing, then said “but it’s going to close”. I asked if there were any more around and he said “There are lots, you have to google them”. If I wanted to google restaurants I would have. If I didn’t have cell service then Google wouldn’t have been any help at all. Any where we’ve asked about places to eat, the front desk has always been helpful letting us know what’s in the area, some even offer suggestions. Obviously as travellers, we didn’t know the area at all.
