The wooden cross here has a remarkable story, having been carried to Syria during the Crusades before later being recovered at sea by local fishermen in 1924.
Continue north toward the town hall, stopping to view the beautiful fountain on Via Morelli. Although simple in design, this limestone structure features five intricate mouths that were once used by thirsty pilgrims.
The town hall itself is an impressive, weathered building. Behind it is the Antiquarium. Discover a wonderful collection of archeological artifacts inside. Most have been found in Numana or neighboring Sirolo. One of the most fascinating items is the ruins of a chariot that has been dated to the Roman Empire.
