This hotel was a terrible disappointment. We booked it for a wedding that as postponed twice. Somehow we ended up paying over $700 for our two-night stay. The "folio" we were sent stated our stay was $263 total. I could not get an answer from them about the huge discrepancy. I tried 3 times. However, there was another issue that was possibly more upsetting.
Right before our stay we received the most gracious, welcoming email. We were so excited! When we arrived at the hotel following the typical MV transport--drive, park, shuttle to ferry, walk to hotel, we knew that check-in was 4 pm. What our "gracious"welcome letter did not tell us was that we couldn't leave our two pieces of luggage at the hotel, when we arrived at 11 or 12. We were told that a hotel a few blocks away could take them for us. OK .... for $5/bag we did that. But it seemed so inhospitable. We were not asking to get into our room, but just to unload our luggage. And 4 pm??? With a 10 am checkout?
The hotel has its charms, but is not easy to navigate. My husband has mobility issues and climbing two sets of narrow, shallow stairs with luggage was definitely a challenge. We were "upgraded" to a king room. A nice concept, but it meant very little room beside the king size bed. The deck was a welcome touch, especially since the lighting in the bathroom made putting on makeup impossible. Sadly, I really wanted to like this place, but we felt there was an undercurrent of hostility.
