“The Best Western Plus Larco Hotel is overrated. It's outside the city center (30 to 40 minutes on foot), the rooms are tiny and certainly not what you would expect of a hotel that is rated 4 stars, the breakfast is ordinary and repetitive. They also have a nickel and dime attitude that is deplorable. As an example, they give you one litre of water the first day that you arrive, but want you to pay for it starting on the second day. Considering the cost of the tiny hotel room, that's nothing……

“Great location, useful parking area, friendly staff. Comfortable room with a bathroom shower that gave plenty of hot water. A fridge was useful alhough we found that the compressor was noisy so we turned it off at night. There was a humming from outside too, possibly a A/C unit, but then I am always a poor sleeper. Not aware of much traffic noise though. Wide breakfast buffet, continually refreshed, which was very enjoyable. Our second visit, and we woukd return. ”

We followed the hotel instruction of throwing toilet paper into the dustbin instead of toilet. The unpleasant odour might come from the toilet paper in dustbin or the sewage pipes. “Das Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend und gut. Das Zimmer sehr sauber! Allerdings hatten wir ein Zimmer - no Balcony - kein Fenster (was so nicht stimmte - denn es gab ein nicht zu öffnendes Fenster in den geschlossenen Innenbereich). Ein derartiges Zimmer ist eines 4 Sterne Hotel\`s nicht würdig - aber sie haben uns mit extrem hohen Upgrade-Kosten ein anderes Zimmer angeboten. Für diesen Preis hätte ich mit Sicherheit ein anderes Hotel - unmittelbar an der Promenade gebucht. 2 Nächte lang kam es……

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and although we were a bit concerned about after hours check-in using a lock box to get room key, details provided were excellent and access was seamless. It has a great location, and despite just off main avenue, it was very quiet. “The hotel is well situated minutes from the beach and conveniently located for shops. The receptionists are ere exceptional, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable with a massive TV, tea and coffee and ensuite. The toiletries were wonderful. Breakfast was 7:30 to 10 and included in my deal. To say it was sumptuous would not do it justice. I hope to return later this year. ”
