"This property was quiet on a big piece of land. Even though this farmhouse was older, it was super clean and close to Port Austin and Caseville. Had a fire in their firepit one night which was really nice. We did bring several standing fans as there is only A/C in one of the bedrooms. In 90 degree weather, the upstairs was hot. It says it sleeps 8 but I would say it comfortably sleeps 5 adults (2 full size beds, 1 twin bed) and if you have a couple little kids one could sleep on the futon (has a bar that is very uncomfortable for an adult to sleep on when opened) and one child could sleep on the small loveseat (it's listed as a full size sleeper sofa, but was in rough condition and felt every spring so we had to just sleep on the couch itself. They do have well water so if you can't stand the smell of sulfur, this would not be for you. They do provide gallons of fresh water for cooking, coffee, etc. which was nice. For the price you can definitely overlook some of the amenities that may only be included in a more expensive place. "

"This is the perfect space for a stay in Port Austin. Mary is an excellent host and extremely responsive. She helped us download an app on the TV to watch the Tigers and even helped find my husbands wedding ring/send it back after our stay. Her kindness and responsiveness made for the most comfortable stay, plus the house is stocked with helpful necessities."

"Loved my stay. I ended up traveling alone with my Dog and it was a great experience. The beach is right in front; note you can walk this beach for miles. As a hiker, there are so many local trails that are glorious. The microwave was not working (no biggie) and was delivered a new microwave the next morning. Wow!!!! Not expected. It’s so cozy here; real up North feel which is so nice. Side note, there is a store across the street, Walt’s. You can walk. Loved it! Going back for Cheeseburger and cannot wait. "

"My husband and I found the Blue Spruce Motel to be perfect for our long weekend stay in Port Austin. Easy walking distance to everything in town, and to the beach. Our room was clean, there was not a single thing to complain about. Pool was clean…we did not jump in but we did sit a while with our feet in, relaxing. "
