House was clean and well equipped, and hosts Carmela and Pier were so warm and helpful with ideas of where to visit and which restaurants to try, as well as local info on the beaches and property. Good base to explore the island, and the local beach is only a 5-10 minute walk and not crowded. We had many playful cat visitors in the gardens as well as lizards and a tortoise, and saw wild boar across the island, so definitely a nature lovers choice. Very relaxing week and could not ask for better hosts for our stay here!Note to the road-nervous - the road to Porto Ercole is unpaved and in poor repair, a hard impractical drive even in an SUV. Nearest shops etc and access around the island is through Porto Santo Stefano 30 mins away so plan your visit with that in mind and be sure to get directions for your first arrival!" They are not worried about all the children weeing in the pool but if a hair were to fall out! It’s obviously a ploy to divert people away from the pool area and onto the beach which you have to pay for so that is annoying, but all in all a nice basic campsite with ‘ok’ lodges. It is in the middle of nowhere though so once your in, your in!
