The best word to describe our week-long stay at Krystal would be: inconsistent. This is from the staff to the food to the available transportation nearby. Some staff was truly kind and accommodating, and others (I'm looking at the omelette station lady) made you feel unwelcome for asking for basics (like cheese on your omelette). In the time we stayed there, housekeeping came only twice within a timely manner and the rest of the time would come closer to 5 when we were unwinding from our day. Creating reservations for the dining areas is annoying at best, you must reserve a day in advance, leaving the day you arrive as a definite for the buffet. Nothing wrong with a good buffet, but quickly you begin to realize that it is the only option for breakfast AND lunch. The food was passable at best and the drinks took some time to appreciate. Please, please keep in mind that Uber is not really a thing around this area for out-of-country visitors like ourselves. You are at least 40 minutes away from downtown Puerto Vallarta if the traffic isn't bad. Keeping that in mind, you should always have pesos on you in order to be able to take taxis since this resort is out of the way. Surely, keeping this in mind the hotel would have a way for you to manage that. But alas, that is another failing. They have an ATM that dispenses pesos, but it was broken 5/7 days there simply because it did not have any cash left. To cap it all they only exchange pesos to dollars at the front desk. Just don't.
