“The place was really quiet and the view was stunning. The breakfast was really good as well with most food being locally sourced. The Panoramic Villa was nice, there was a bit of a misunderstanding at first when the host showed us the Villa but was resolved afterwards. Also the shower seemed to be stucked to really hot temperature but adding a little force to the other side of the fosset did fix it to more reasonable temperatures.”

“Fantastic stay for 2 nights in late September. Location is a challenging drive up a mountain, mixed signage. Great staff, lovely room and outstanding view on a clear sunny day. One challenge - breakfast is provided, dinner is not available....we did ask for a cheese platter one evening (the only option) but it was not made for us, not sure why - so we had to drive 15 mins into town in the dark. Overall a fantastic stay but be warned it is not a hotel, it is a quinta (farm) that does not……

“The Good: Wonderful homely place all the staff are lovely. What an amazing location high above the Duoro River below. Great wine ( goes without saying !!) Although a little isolated the availability of the evening snack menu was great and a fitting and substantial addition to the wine. Pinhao is about 25 minute drive away, but there are many restaurants there. The Bad: Parking is available but yes it’s very narrow and sometimes a bit of a log jam. “We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Dona Edite Guesthouse in the Douro Valley, located about 15 to 20 minutes from Pinhão. The room is modern, well decorated and we appreciated the his and her towels. The place is very quiet since we are up in the hills, away from the town. The continental breakfast in the morning is delicious. So, if you are looking for a place to stay in the Douro valley and relatively near Pinhao, we highly recommend Casa Dona Edite.”

“Our room with a terrace was absolutely beautiful. We loved the stunning views and how peaceful and quiet the property was. The staff was truly amazing and went above and beyond during our stay. When my boyfriend hurt his back, they were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to help us, which we really appreciated.
