(80 reviews) The room was good and the grounds are glorious. We enjoyed time on the terrace and in the swimming pool. The air-con was not brilliant and the hot water was a little lacking. The wine tour was excellent and the guide was very knowledgeable; the tastings were generous and the accompanying cheese plate was very welcome. You need to get to know the systems - there is no bar, for instance, and waiters appear from nowhere to get glasses on wine of various types. We were never offered beers or spirits. Dinner comes with wine; this was not explained to us so we took the complimentary bottle of wine with us for dinner, but did not get a chance to drink it - we were flying home direct from Casa Real so couldn't take it with us, hence we could not drink it; shame. Overall we did enjoy finishing our Chile/Argentina holiday at Casa Real but it could have been made better with clearer explanations of what was happening for getting drinks and dinner - it just needs explaining on arrival or via email beforehand.
