It was a really great location and in walking distance to the beach and boardwalk. We also enjoyed that it was pet friendly. However it could have been a little cleaner. Some on the blankets had stains and most of the pillows had no pillow cases. The tv in both rooms rarely worked and the floor had black dog hair all over. It’d be a really nice place if they did some upgrading. For over $200 a night I thought it would have been a little nicer. We enjoyed ourselves and made the best of the time we stayed.
Close to downtown - the main section where many shops and restaurants are located (Rehoboth Ave). Very clean and staff very pleasant. Wished there was a tub, but they are rare these days. LOVED the french doors that opened to the balcony with the tall Adirondack style beach chairs.
Pet friendly, small and very easy. Glad I could go directly to the room without waiting due to having dogs. Wish rooms had a little more back support (headboard, pillows), lighting/AC wasn't working well and hot tub did break but staff was great in accommodating as best they could. Love how pet friendly they are, dogs had an amazing time, best dog friendly hotel I've been to (even option for a large quiet basement suite if your pup is reactive). It is also a great walk to the beach or to take a bike (dogs are allowed on the boardwalk/beach from late September to early May) but even just the trails and dog friendly restaurants it is worth a stay if you have furry friends!
The Canalside inn is a great property just inside Rehoboth beach as you cross the canal. It's very walkable to everywhere or you can rent a bike from them too. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the community kitchen/social area is a big bonus. The management should put a sign up to make it clear, the food that's placed in the community fridge is NOT for community consumption--someone ate my breakfast.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as an excellent pet-friendly hotel.
We stayed here in the off season, near Christmas. The town was busy but it was nice and quiet back there. We were happy to find a hotel off the main road for that reason. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The hotel was very nice though couldn't use all of the amenities due to the season. Loved that it was dog friendly and lots of roads to walk dogs nearby in the neighborhood. Everything was remote entry but it was very convenient. We'd definitely stay here in the main season too. Very convenient to the main road and restaurants, etc.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
It's in a good location on a low traffic street. It is absolutely not a 4 Star hotel, its a 12 room airbnb for people with dogs. There is no staff, every time I open the door to the upstairs hallway i got hit with the smell of dog poo. The "deluxe king" room I booked has no closet or dresser to unpack and not much room to put a suitcase to live out of. I live in a tiny efficiency apartment and felt cramped here.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I used to work at Hilton Inn. I know how to clean a room and what a clean room is supposed to look like. I was very disappointed. My shower head and drain were brown instead of the original silver it should be. My towels has brown stains all over them. My shower trickled water like a leaking hose. No pressure at all. Basically a drip for a shower. And that alone makes me give this place a negative 0. If I can't properly clean myself especially after the beach then it's a 0 for me. And I know it's not a hotel but there's a policy to keep the noise level low from 10 to 8 am . This is a beach town stuff don't start happening until after 10nand then you have to creep in your room. It was not a pleasant stay at all. And last even though there is a stain glass window it is see through pretty much from outside. I could see one of the other occupants standing bare chest at the sink from my car on the bottom floor room. I had to put a towel up to mine. ONLY GOOD THING WAS IT WAS A 15 MIN WALK TO THE BEACH SO I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING AT THE BEACH.
NOT FOR EVERYBODY KIND OF PLACE IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
CHEAPER ISNT ALWAYS BETTER.
SHOWER HEADS AND DRAINS DONT COST MUCH TO REPLACE.
THROW AWAY BROWN NASTY TOWELS.
CALL A REPAIR MAN FOR YOUR WATER PRESSURE.
NO STAFF ON SITE EVER TO COMPLAIN. NONE
This is my first time staying at an independent property, rather than a name brand, so I was a little unsure at first, but they’re pet friendly and close to where we wanted to be for the weekend - something hard to find in season. The property has a nice curb appeal, it’s a little older of a building, but still quaint. The room was an even nicer surprise: well appointed, extremely comfortable mattress, pillows, and bedding. The bathroom had wonderfully thick towels, although a little challenging in storage space — but I tend to pack more toiletries than anyone person needs. The room itself had ample storage. A mini-fridge and microwave were nice amenities, as was the mood lighting, and French doors to patio. The service was excellent, any point of contact was pleasant and helpful. The pool and hot tub looked well kept, although we didn’t use them. You can tell the family who owns this property is putting a lot of love into it. We would certainly stay again. They have a fair price point, and provide a genuine sense of hospitality.
Loved the location in a quiet residential area away from the crowds. Definitely the most pet friendly place we have stayed without having to give up the luxuries you often do for a pet friendly stay. The dogs are even pampered with bowls, towels and treats! Perfect area to walk them along the canal across the street from the inn. Within walking distance to the main street and great restaurants. Definitely will be returning now that we have found this gem!
