Unfortunately this stay soured the Extended Stay America brand for me. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and will never stay at one of their hotels again.
I stopped here on a 14 hour trip cause I was exhausted and needed to crash for a few hours. I would’ve rather just kept driving through the night than the obscene price I paid to stay in this gross hotel.
Check in was a mess - one woman working with literally 3 phones all ringing off the hook. I was quasi checked in while she was with someone on the phone. Not her fault and she was nice, but poor staffing for sure.
Once I got into my room, the entire floor was sticky and gross, and there were actual spots of syrup or blood or something near the kitchen area. The sheets were dingy and browned. There was hair on one of the towels and in the shower. The AC was unbelievably loud and while it did keep the room cool, it was actually in a painful way. Adjusting the temperature didn’t seem to help. It was just… gross. I desperately needed a shower in the morning. I was so exhausted I couldn’t even complain or go through the hassle of switching rooms. I changed out the TV remote because it of course didn’t work, but that was it. Lastly, the sound was TERRIBLE in the room. Sounded like I was staying under a bowling alley or a herd of wild elephants running laps.
Ultimately, I am so disappointed. I’m disgusted with myself for staying here for what they charged. I’ll be contacting the chain directly.
