If you are looking for luxury accommodations then this is not for you, and if the room is the most important thing then you are truly missing the point of what this area has to offer. The rooms face the most beautiful lake and in the morning a homemade breakfast with your coffee and take it all in, look at the lock and watch as boats make their way....the hosts Jeff and Core are amazing and are every day working to make improvements to the property. You have a real feeling of family. enjoy the Sunday Brunch on the porch facing the lake or take a stroll with an ice cream from the on site snack bar. We truly enjoyed our stay and will return. The bed was super comfy, if you are looking for a super powerful and hot shower you may be out of luck, remember where you are! Small price to pay for everything else that was fabulous. Told manager, he couldn’t care less Not worth the money at all. Do not stay here. This vintage hotel is rustic but unique and the setting right at Jones Falls Lock is spectacular! Lots of interesting sites in the area to explore, especially for history buffs. If dining at the hotel, expect a leisurely experience but know that the meal is well worth the wait! Sunday brunch was amazing, so many choices! We stayed in Hilltop cabin. The queen bed was very comfortable. Just a heads up: the shower stall is quite small. The new owners are working hard to refurbish the property but keeping the nostalgic feel, which we appreciate. The food was outstanding!!! We were there very late in the season and were the only people there the last night, however they treated us like royalty and served the best meal of the trip, family style! Chef Core went above and beyond and even opened the ice cream parlor for us, even though it was closed that day. We had unusually warm weather for October so the ice cream was a treat!!! The location of the property is lovely - on the water and at the base of the locks! The restaurant was not open while we were there so I can't comment. As for the property itself, it is in need of some TLC - sadly, it is quite rundown. Our accommodation in one of the chalets seemed to have had some renovations - a very comfy bed but still quite rustic.
