The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location was beautiful, overlooking the Rideau Canal. Unfortunately, evening dining was not available on site but there was a lovely pub/bistro 10 minutes drive away.

The hotel was very charming but dated. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Even got up early to make us a breakfast to go because we had to leave early. The view from the hotel is spectacular. Thankyou

The staff are very friendly, the price is reasonable and there is AC. As well the breakfast is very good. That all said, the hotel could easily get 4 stars, but it needs a bit of work. The buildings are in rough shape and our shower didn’t work and there was no hot water.

Hotel Kenney Rideau shines by its friendly and wonderfully helpful staff and it's incredible food menu! We felt very welcome, as if we had known them for years. Their evening and brunch menus are very generous and of incredible quality. Certain rooms are showing their age but they are a work in progress. We were nonetheless very comfortable and would go again.

The staff here are wonderful and always helpful. The property itself is older, so while they are working on updating and maintaining, a lot of it is dated or needing minor repair. For example, there used to be a swimming pool but the previous owner filled it with dirt. The room we were in has a great view of the river and a patio that opens right in front of the dock, which was lovely. However, the room itself was dated and needed a deep clean and the plumbing was obviously old. The beds were comfortable and the food was fantastic, especially the Sunday brunch, which is very popular. You can tell that everyone there cares about taking care of their guests and the main building shows their hard work in cleaning up and updating the property. The convenient access to the park and waterways is another plus.

From the moment you arrive and are greeted by the beautiful Front Desk Manager aka POWWOW the Golden Retriever you know you have stumbled upon something special. This 150 year old property is situated on the most breathtaking view of the Rideau Canal, watch as boats enter and exit the locks. The owners, Jeff and Core do everything to make your stay comfortable and are always on site should you need anything. They are great Hosts and have done so much work (we stayed there last year and this year and they have been working tirelessly and it shows). The food, well I can tell you the snack shop breakfast sammies and world famous cookies are show stoppers, wide variety of ice cream for those taking a stroll. The greatest surprise this year is the expanded restaurant hours, patio fare and the amazing Sunday Brunch. We were very impressed by all the food and again these gentlemen put it all together themselves, always very hands on from greeting guests to preparing mouthwatering food. If you are local to the area, check out the restaurant/patio. They also offer docking for boaters. If you would like to step away from it all and totally relax then do yourself a favour and book a stay at this hidden gem. See you next year!!!!

Quaint and historic. Beautiful location. Stayed in a rustic cabin - stylish renovation, and amazing water pressure in the shower. Food in the restaurant far exceeded my expectations, though vegetarian options were minimal. The hotel dog was relaxed and good-natured.

Hidden gem by the Rideau. Picturesque, comfortable and dinner was outstanding. Rooms are a bit dated, and included breakfast started a little late (9am). But, still great value and super friendly staff!

The new owner is doing an incredible job reopening this amazing property, set directly across from Jones’ Falls locks on the Rideau canal. Big rooms, comfy beds, and right on the water. Peaceful and lots of wildlife. Really good food too at the restaurant and great staff who went the extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable. We will be back.
