The staff are amazing the food is great the pools are nice as well as the beach

I was wondering why this property got 4 stars!? The floors were dirty and the ground was uneven and lumpy in parts. I’d be walking in my room and bump my foot on parts of the floor. Would recommend only if nothing better is available.

It was very unique. I highly recommend it. Some suggestions to make it more unique include: allowing us to charge phones in our rooms; make it more eco friendly by having people fill up water bottles from a main dispenser rather than small single use bottles. We liked the fact that the kayaks and snorkels were included. More local food choices on the menu.

I had two problems very quickly upon my stay (1) my keys or card keys would not work the elevators. I then had to stand in line for another 20 minutes to get new keys that only worked some of the time. (2) Air conditioning in my room was either ON or OFF. Temperature control was not working.

This property is out of Panama City a ways but I wanted to be closer to the birding areas in the area. The hotel was likely a jewel in its day but the years are showing. The AC seems to be uncontrolled as other reviewers have noted. In my room, although I could set the temperature it just got colder & colder without regard to the thermostat setting so I had to turn it on and off manually. I got upgraded to a balcony room & there was rust all over the railings, worse one almost needed to be Hercules to open & close the "sliding" door. The 3 pools looked fine but I didn't use them. Breakfast was full buffet style with lots of choices and the restaurant had good offerings as well. Being a golf facility too I had hoped to find a lot of birds around, but alas, that was definitely not the case. There were some but nothing like what I had expected being surrounded by rainforest.
