The Lion Inn was one of the most charming Inn's I have stayed in. The rooms are charming- you approach yours as if it is your own little cottage. Inside, they are cheerful and bright and have the latest in sleeping accommodations and amenities. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The pub is wonderful, The cuisine is delicious and contemporary, and the servers are lovely and efficient. The Inn is located near the Grade I church of St. Oswalds, -a two-minute walk away. Room was not ready after arriving after check in time. Was given a different room and found it not clean. Got changed to another room and staff was fast to get crib for our child fast.

This was our first night in our UK trip and was arguably the best place we could stay to introduce us to this country. Our room was small but the stone walls and lovely decor made it feel simultaneously rustic and contemporary. The bathroom was well designed and had a wonderful shower that was just what we needed after 15 hours of travel. The bed was a dream, I haven’t slept that well in a long time. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I appreciated the don’t trust your sat nav signs...

Perfect for what we needed. Booked at very short notice (same day) got a quick and helpful response from the venue. Accommodation was clean and tidy, lots of space for 2 adults and a dog. Thank you!

I absolutely LOVE this place. Property is gorgeous, rooms comfortable and clean. Easy walks around and the staff were very helpful. I will be back without question as this is a great peaceful place I wish to return to and soon. Breakfast spread was good as well! We were in a bind for the last night of our stay; the staff went above and beyond to help us, very lovely people, and we wish them all the best.

Helen was lovely and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious! Very convenient to have parking and a pub across the road for dinner.
