Normally, I'd say that this property is a bit overpriced, but everything in SB is more expensive than you'd think. With that in mind, Mar Monte is definitely appropriately priced for the area and what you get. It's not super luxurious but it's really really good! Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and property, solid staff, and plenty of parking; albeit a little pricier than it should be, even for the area -- but they did charge my EV overnight, so it's pretty hard to complain! It's a bit far from State St. & all those restaurants, but that distance also helps to keep it a bit quieter/calmer... and you couldn't get closer to the zoo if you tried (definitely walking distance) and the beach is across the street! All around, this place is a big winner.

We had a last minute change in our original plans due to weather and decided to go to Santa Barbara. I had been eyeing this property before but didn’t stay here. Since it was my birthday decided to go with it. My husband and I had an amazing stay here. From the moment we arrived the bell service/valet attendants were very curious. The front desk upgraded us to a view since we were unable to get a king bed for our stay. The check-in was great! Rooms were very clean, large and perfect! We went to Costa for drinks the 1st night and the bartenders were great. We got a shareable appetizer and loved it! Drinks were well served and the service was great! We went back to Costa for breakfast both mornings and just enjoyed everything from the service the cleanliness of the restaurant, service and quality of everything! I recommend adding breakfast to your stay, well with it. One night we just stayed in and left the balcony door open and enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing. Our checkout was smooth no issues at all. Overall such a great experience with your staff, our stay and a great value! Thank you so much!
