Great location & hotel

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Close proximity to the beach, availability and friendliness of hotel staff, breakfast buffet, modern and clean rooms, beautiful pools and lounge areas
Location: Very close to the beach with many restaurant options, grocery locations, shops, scuba/snorkeling, and within blocks of the bus stop.
Wonderful hotel for a 1st time traveler to the island due to the hotels walking proximity to a wide range of restaurants, shops, and excursions. Within in a few blocks from the bus stop which makes traveling the island very easy. Many motor rental locations within walking distance if you'd prefer to drive. Hotel was very modern and new and offered several nice pools and a rooftop area for lounging and catching some sun. Nice area to shower if you arrive early before your room is available and place to store your things until you can check in. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Wonderful champagne breakfast buffet every morning. Welcome bottle of wine and fruit was a great way to start the trip. Fridge in the room was a plus. Highly recommend to others and we constantly kept saying how glad we were to have picked this hotel for its great location and proximity to many things to do as well as for being so nice. We felt like we picked a winner and would recommend to family and friends.

La Mer is a fabulous hotel. The staff are wonderful and have thought of lots of small details that make your stay extra special. The hotel is very clean and modern. We were upgraded and our rooms were cool and spacious, all rooms overlook the two magnificent pools. The breakfast which is included is excellent and Andrian our waiter was funny and very attentive. George oversees everything in the restaurant and was very friendly too. The hotel is 50 metres from the beach and promenade which is packed with retaurants, bars, cafés and other hotels. Don't be put off by the drive from the airport, when you arrive at La Mer you are in for a treat. We will go back.

Great Hotel with the personal touch

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Excellent staff and service is second to none. We can't say enough about them, especially Christina and the Bar man.
Location: The hotel does not over look a beech but don't let that put you off! A five minute walk takes you to lots of restaurants and bars so you are central
This hotel more than meets expectations. The hotel had a friendly atmosphere with Mr George the Manager giving a warm welcome to guests when ever he saw them. The staff make this hotel they were exceptional. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they went the extra mile to be helpful and friendly. Thank you to Christina what a super star! This hotel is five star with great facilities, spa , lovely food and staff that care that you have a great holiday.

Excellent Hotel

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The Hotel is in excellent condition, being just a few years old and being well maintained. The Staff are all very professional and friendly.
Cons: Would be better if children were not allowed at all. the relaxing quiet pool side could be ruined by noisy children.
Location: Perfectly set back just a few buildings from the beach, lots of bars and restaurants along the beach front.
The Hotel is perfect for couples who are looking for a high standard quiet hotel. The double room we had was a perfect size, excellent bathroom, lovely balcony looking over the pool. The beach being less than a minutes walk away and full of bars and restaurants. Just a five minutes drive from the airport, it is under the flight path of incoming planes, but it is not a busy airport, so the planes are not frequent enough to be annoying, I personally enjoyed watching the planes fly over. The island is very small and easy to travel around by hire car or quad bike, we had a hire car, there are several small towns which are great to visit, you need to be up for a walk, all the good bits are in pedestrian cobbled streets, you could easily drive through a town thinking there is nothing but a couple of bars and restaurants along the road through. We loved the hotel and the island, and planning to go back next year to the same hotel, I have been abroad at least once a year since the age of 20 (now 45) I have never liked somewhere enough to want to go back until now.

Lovely hotel near to beach and restaurants

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Due to the size, the same staff were always around and you felt as if they got to know you.
Location: Very short walk to the beach and restaurants. It's worth walking to Ancient Thira at the top of the hill - but do it early as it's quite a climb!
Lovely small and friendly hotel. Everything you need was provided, including towels for the pool and to take to the beach. We were able to arrange trips out around the island from the hotel and even booked a quad bike for the day which was delivered to the door 10 minutes after booking!

Small hotel pictures make it seem larger.

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: The room when we eventually got it.
Cons: More area for sun loungers, nicer restaurant area.
Location: Location was very central to Kamari, lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance, close to the beach for water sports, open air cinema.
When we arrived we were told they over booked so we were transferred to their sister hotel on the beach, we had a very small room there for three days. We were then upgraded to their honeymoon suit and given a free dinner. I found this rather annoying as I had paid for this hotel not the other 3 star down the road, we carried on using the smaller hotel for sunbathing as there was no sunloungers left in the morning. Breakfast was very samely other than that a nice hotel.

Beautiful hotel

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: The only thing I personally think they could improve on is a little more choice on their menus.
Location: La Mere Hotel is about a 2 minute walk to the beach, bars & restaurants.Plenty off shops & the local bus service is easy & cheap.
Beautiful hotel.Just a few paces from the beach where all the restaurants & most of the bars are.Friendly & efficient staff.Food was great.Quite a small & intimate hotel I would say.Great for couples.Exceptionally clean.Would highly recommend the La Mere.We are going back next year.

Perfect location + facilities + healthcare

Posted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: Peaceful, no children.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: About 100m from the main seafront strip in Kamari, Santorini.
The hotel was situated close to the start of the main strip. A Peaceful location without the noise and bustle of the night life. The room was pristine along with the on suite, and air conditioned, which was a blessing. A choice of a spa or any of 3 pools was good along with the weights-room. Breakfast choice ranged from full English, continental and traditional, eat as much as you like. Staff happy, cheerful, always available and eager to please. All fluent in English. Thank you all for the lovely stay, I will see you again, the sooner the better d;+)

Fantastic hotel in great location

Posted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Location, service, staff and quality of rooms and amenities
Cons: It says that there is a fitness/gym but that really is not the case. There was a single treadmill that was broken and one bicycle and some weights
Location: It is in a quiet side street (although there is aircraft noise) but 50m from the beach and all the bars and restaurants.
Situated in a quiet side street but only 50 metres from Kamari's black sandy beach and all it's amenities, make this a perfect location for a hotel. All the restaurants, bar and tavernas are easily reached within a short 5 minute stroll. The hotel is small and spread over two levels which gives it more of a villa feel than a hotel. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and all have a balcony or veranda. But it is the staff that make this hotel so exceptional- they are not only really attentive but very friendly and helpful. Service in all areas was first class. I highly recommend this hotel
