“The hotel is a few minutes walk from Mallaig train station, and the ferry terminal. There are two supermarkets and a few restaurants around the village so that one can easily get refreshments. I was amazed that the hotel is in a delicate traditional wooden decor, and has a relaxing garden terrace. I also enjoyed the window view a lot! The room was clean and it’s reception was excellent. I strongly recommend anyone who plan to visit any Hebrides islands, give the hotel a chance,.”

“Doune Braes is very close to the Callanish standing stones, which makes it a super convenient location if the stones are on your itinerary! Everyone working at Doune Braes was extremely kind and helpful and the food (I had dinner and breakfast) was delicious. It is not a fancy accommodation, but the rooms are clean, spacious, and safe. Highly recommended if you are visiting Lewis and want to see the Callanish stones, particularly at sunrise or sunset!”

“It was our first time in Shetland and from the day we arrived the staff could not have done anything more for us they went over and above to help us with places to go things to see . We arrived 5 hours early and they still let us check in so we could catch up on some sleep, Scott and Curtis are just fantastic they also go over and above to help they so friendly and happy which was nice to see and the singing was not to bad either ,The hotel is located in a very central location as there is a……

“The location is very good, very east to find, it is a very peaceful area, it also has the sea view from my room, parking can park next to the supermarket. However the room is very small, but it should be very small in the overall highland area, just depends how much you pay. Thanks!”
