The site is clearly gentrifying but this property is past the edge of “nice neighborhood” and verges on ghetto. The mobile-phone entry key did not work, and we would not have been able to enter at all within the first hour if we did not have the luck of encountering a cleaners we reached the entrance - but the code never worked anyway. The room and the house in general were not i. Good condition and showed very shabby renovations - the bare minimum to make the rooms habitable. There is a good coffee shop across the street but a hip coffee shop in a sketchy area (it did not seem unsafe but was poorly lit and generally not maintained) is quite a different experience from a room in the same location.

I chose this inn because of its location more than anything else. It looks a bit run-down on the outside (it's actually two older homes reworked as guest houses), but the room was pleasant and comfortable. Lighting in the bathroom was not ideal at the sink, but fine for the shower. Two restaurants nearby was a plus. The parking area is on an alley behind the building, and a little tricky to maneuver in and out. There's no staff on site most of the time, but when I checked in, there was a very helpful employee who answered a few questions.

The ac worked perfectly and the room was very clean. The size of the room is a bit tiny but it was perfect for a solo short stay. The bed was a little uncomfortable and a cabinet in the bathroom was missing a door. However everything was working properly and pretty modern. Other than that I have nothing negative to say. Staff is very helpful to gain access to your key as well! This is definitely not a walkable stay if you wish to spend your time Downtown. The location is a bit far from the waterfront and Pike Place Market but the transportation system is very simple to operate, especially if you are used to major transit. The stop is basically across the street in front of the university. Overall for the price I rate this a 8.4/10 and perfect for those who don’t mind using public transportation.

There are stairs to the front door. There is a handrail, but only on one side. The handrail is not extremely sturdy, and it does not reach the top of the staircase. It was very challenging for me to navigate and I had to ask someone else to get my luggage down the steps. The gravel parking lot was acceptable, but difficult to maneuver in. To drive out, it was necessary to go down a narrow alley and exit on the next block. Otherwise, it was a peaceful stay. We slept well on the comfortable beds.
